Blogs Vs. Wikis

Blogs & Wikis have similar features.  Both of them can be created by any person, the technology used to create the pages is easy to understand by non technical users, need collaboration for their success and the selections of topics to talk about is infinite.

Collaboration- Even though is one of the similarities, the way people collaborate to the website is the major difference between blogs and wikis. In a blog, the person that creates the page is the only editor.  The blogger controls the format, the style, and the comments from the readers.  The readers collaborate to the post in the form of comments and suggestions about what the blogger have posted.  This is very important especially in the business area because the companies are interested in what the readers or user of their products have to say about them and can use the suggestions to improve the products. Wikis, in the other hand are "structurally capable of handling conversation, but it is not their forte" from How To Use Wikis For Businessas by Ezra Goodnoe.  The collaboration comes from many people acting as editors.  Anyone can access the webpage an input or edit information related to the topic.
